THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE INDIVIDUALS THAT SPONSORED ONE OF OUR RUNNERS- WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!!!! Donations received through the Boilermaker Charity Bib Program will be used to assist cancer patients in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, & Onondaga Counties that apply for financial assistance. Many patients fighting cancer are struggling to make ends meet. When you are battling cancer you shouldn't have to worry how you are going to get food on the table for your kids, if you will be able to pay rent or heat bills, if you can afford childcare, or how you are going to get yourself or your sick loved one to the best place for treatment. Our Foundation offers assistance with these expenses so the patient & their family can carry on in a very difficult time of their life. To qualify for assistance-Patients must be currently undergoing cancer treatment and facing financial hardship due to treatment. To avoid fraudulent claims, all applications are signed by the patient & their attending oncologist, radiologist, or oncology LSW. The healthcare provider or LSW is then contacted by the Foundation to confirm the patient's status. Foundation funds are paid directly to the billing party/utility company on the patient's behalf OR gift cards are given to the patient for gas/grocery needs. A record of all financial allocations is kept & HIPAA Privacy Laws are maintained.
